djdj500 fantastic album, excellent songwriting melodies vocals all of it... but the lp in this case is terrible, there was an extra label pressed into the a side, surface noise around the first quarter inch of the outside of the disc that fades in and out, and the mix possibly or at least the Stamper has made a terrible impression in the vinyl, the pressing is dull, muted. a gross over abundance of bass. I would very much like to return the vinyl record but I would prefer to have a CD.
Carsten Pieper

Carsten Pieper Indeed a genre-bending experience. Pop, prog, just look at the liner notes... "Shamelessly melodic", check, too!

The richness of the Norwegian music scene and the quality of the goods offered keep astonishing me! Favorite track: A Body of Your Own.
Eleventh Earl of Blah

Eleventh Earl of Blah Is it prog? Is it rock? It it pop? No idea - I just know that this album is incredibly melodic and bursting with great hooks. Favorite track: Imitation Flesh.
Joey Woznicki

Joey Woznicki This is such a different side of the band as compared to Meta. There's a lot of mysteriousness here to unravel. I'm loving the more easily decipherable "In Syzygy," and really scratching my head at "Odradek." Favorite track: Odradek.

LP clear vinyl in a single sleeve.

Maraton break boundaries between genres, creating progressive alternative rock with roaring bass, massive guitars and exceptional vocals. Described as "shamelessly melodic", the band experiments with sounds and creates music that can be described as a dynamic journey through sensory impressions. Thematically, lines are drawn between the emotional and the philosophical, and the songs are based on human receptivity to new impressions and developments.

Maraton released their debut album "Meta" in 2019, with great success and very good reviews internationally. At the time of writing, the debut has almost 3 million plays on Spotify alone, and despite the pandemic and little opportunity for concerts, the band's fan base is constantly growing.

The band has been praised for their fantastic and energetic live performances with such claims as: "Bergersen's falsetto delivery is simply amazing" and "With a voice driven by power and clarity, I was left with goosebumps in places you did not know you could get goosebumps " - Heavymetal.no. Maraton has previously played at festivals such as Roskilde Festival in Denmark, By:larm- and the Trondheim Rocks festival in Norway, and after the debut album they went on an extensive European tour with Leprous.

By combining and experimenting with different genres, the band creates a distinct and iconic soundscape that is characterized by technical drumming performed with mechanical precision, earthquake-awakening bass, shimmering guitars and almost sacred vocals. Despite this strange and wonderful mix, the songs present themselves as surprisingly catchy, but at the same time timeless, and as something that should be enjoyed and absorbed through more than one listening. Maraton are finally back with new music, and the follow-up album Unseen Color is expected in the Autumn of 2022.

In Syzygy 04:47
There is me and then there's me Opposites in syzygy Turning inside out That's what we're about Watch us spill it all We´re looking for that one thing that cannot be found Something for the world to revolve around Just enough of not enough Give us more of less Let me find some comfort in the cold unknown I know this is sounding like a lot So close your eyes and disappear Be in syzygy We´re looking for that one thing that cannot be found Something for the world to revolve around We´re looking for that one thing that cannot be found Something for the world to revolve around It's nothing like they said it would be and that's fine Cuz we're young and we like what we like Heavenly, my twin We are the same I take the blame For allowing you to fade away I need you by my side All the time We´re looking for that one thing that cannot be found Something for the world to revolve around It's nothing like they said it would be and that's fine Cuz we're young and we like what we like Yeah we're young and I´m wasting her time Who's gonna love you Who's gonna make you feel (Now) Who's gonna love you (And) Who's gonna make you real (Now) Who's gonna love you (And) Who's gonna make you real

Contranym 03:23
I know what it means So don't get excited There's no in-between There's nowhere to hide it Change it all you want Change the goal Change it as you go Give it all you got Give yourself everything Everything you´re not Give yourself without a thought Now there's nothing left for me It goes on and on and on Whatever I won't try to spoil the fun And it goes on and on and on So what are you gonna do about it? It's never enough So don't get excited It's not letting up But still we keep trying Nothing is the same Lose it all Void in all but name Tell it like it is Tell me what you really think Tell me everything Tell me every single thought Tell me what is left for me It goes on and on and on Whatever I won't try to spoil the fun And it goes on and on and on So what are you gonna do about it? Everything, tell me everything Everything, tell me everything Tell me everything Tell me every single thought Tell me what is left for me

Feel the heat in me A distant beat within I deal in sheets for free I'm told that´s called called defeat Try harder I can't begin if there's nothing left to start So why bother l´ll go where you go In parallel or somewhere else My non-euclidean heart Evergreen I grow Nothing like before Little do they know(?) That it's all for show Thanks I hate it You´re doing great but I don´t think you understand Talk later OK bye I´ll go where you go In parallel or somewhere else My non-euclidean heart Makes no sense I´ll go if you go I can't pretend I'm someone else So don't hope for a miracle It makes no I´ll go where you go In parallel or somewhere else My non-euclidean heart I´ll go where you go In parallel or somewhere else My non-euclidean heart
4.
Blind Sight 02:51
It's a little bit tricky now It's a little bit hard to know what you don´t know It's like looking for something in a never ending stack of everything They say that ignorance is bliss and what is hidden won't be missed Nothing to see Just carry on So you try to forget But they just can´t let it go All you do is wish you didn't know And you say that you get it cuz nobody's perfect We all can be wrong Even though it hurts you need to know It's a little uncanny now If you think about how the mind defined itself What´s the meaning of meaning if we´re playing with the cards we dealt ourselves They say you work with what you´ve got You make your move, you take the shot I know, I know You think your favorite did nothing wrong So you try to forget But they just can´t let it go All you do is wish you didn't know And you say that you get it cuz nobody's perfect We all can be wrong Even though it hurts you need to know
5.
Make me whole Just come on I want it all I´ll crawl I´ll beg I have to Don´t be everything at once But don´t be nothing This is how you come undone Come on and give it to me These are perdurant lives But the way you move is on my mind I´ll keep ignoring the signs Forever be ever be half alive Let's compare And see what we're made of Don´t be scared It's me I'm afraid of This is never adding up Until it's over Then you´ll knowsee you are enough That one time These are perdurant lives but the way you move is on my mind I´ll keep ignoring the signs Forever be ever be half alive These are perdurant lives but the way you move is on my mind I´ll keep ignoring the signs Forever be ever be half alive Oh I´ll never be I´ll never be Ever be So complete But you´ll never be free You´ll never be free like me
6.
Look, I did the math And this thing is rigged, there's no second chance It's obvious This game is not for us (See you later, on my best behavior) Soon we won't exist And I bet you won't even remember this Don't fool yourself We didn't pass the vibe check Who is gonna fill the void when we´re gone Who is gonna feel that cold We´re fading Baby We´re nothing but a Boltzmann Brain We´re fading Baby We´re nothing but a Boltzmann Brain Do you even care That matter grew conscious and self aware We did a thing It doesn´t need a meaning Who is gonna fill the void when we´re gone All we ever grow is old I´m fading I feel like there is Nothing left to feel So blink and miss us And leave the world to something that is real Everything is fading now so baby let us slip right into nothing like a Boltzmann Brain Everything is fading now so baby let us slip right into nothing like a Boltzmann Brain
7.
Odradek 04:16
I wish there was a way to bring it back I can't believe we're all amnesiacs (at least we have something in common) There´s an odradek shaped hole in our matte black souls and it calls for more I don´t think our lives should even count (til we´re whole) The absence is the clue Displaced by what we knew A half-remembered dream A fleeting something in the seam We catch it and it's gone A strange and fading song We need this to be true There's nothing you can say to change my mind I know it for a fact we left behind (the final and truest emotion) Now we´re living half-baked lives Wasting all our time But I know there´s more I wish I only knew what we should look for The absence is the clue Displaced by what we knew A half-remembered dream A fleeting something in the seam The odradek and you The color that we knew I need it to be true The absence is the clue Displaced by what we knew A half-remembered dream A fleeting something in the seam We catch it and it's gone A strange and fading song
8.
This is where I panic and you give up that's close enough So cut me into pieces And feed me to the dogs Can we stop pretending? It's obvious to all of us There, I spoiled the ending Now leave the rest to me We´re in too deep In irony I hope it never ends Hey what made you believe this life is what you wanted? Are you stuck on repeat Or back where you started? But you don't know the half of it You do it for the hell of it You can´t be lost if there's nowhere to go Am I really here right now? Is this the end of a possession Just another lesson left behind again Am I the only one who feels this way? I hate to say I told you so They say he doesn't row Hey what made you believe this life is what you wanted? Are you stuck on repeat Or back where you started? But you don't know the half of it You do it for the hell of it You can't be lost if there's nowhere to go SO COME ON
9.
Did it take hold Did it change you Did it make you something else Something new Can you feel it Can you tell the difference I caught you weak In that blinking eye You´re mine to take Let go Just let go Of the parasite you keep Breathe in Just breathe in With a body of your own Once we were one We were different We were something else Something new Can you feel it Can you tell the difference Feel it Just feel it We're just bodies on our own Nothing There´s nothing We're just bodies on our own

Unseen Color 05:33
I´ve become the unseen color Watch me with your undressed eye I need to come alive before I can die I´ve become the unseen color Watch me with your undressed eye I need to come alive before I can die Let it be known Let it be known The pictures you sent are still on my phone Let it be known Let it be known I kept you around to feel in control Nothing changes Nothing forms I just have to know Where the world ends and ends Where the unseen glows I´ve become the unseen color Watch me with your undressed eye I need to come alive before I can die I´m already gone I was always wrong I´m already gone I was always wrong Elevate me To a higher Truth Envisioned Truth is vision Can I see it I must see it Now I´ve seen it So must you

about

Maraton embraces the unknown with their captivating and emotional new album “Unseen Color”!

Beautiful vocal lines and unexpected twists and hooks immediately hits you with Maratons new album “Unseen Color”. A wonderful mix of alternative rock, pop and prog shows the bands immense ability to seamlessly blend genres and produce a unique and captivating sound.
“Unseen Color” is truly a new direction for the band and vocalist Fredrik Klemp describes that the album is a representation of growth where each song represents an unseen color of Maraton.

Songwriter and guitarist Simen Ruud has the following to say:
"It´s always hard to know which songs are gonna end up on an album, and this time we ended up picking all the ones we initially didn't think would fit on a Maraton album. All the weird ones, basically. Everything else fell into place after this and gave us the right vision we needed to guide us to the finish line. The album is about a lot of things, but most of all accepting the unknowns in life. Or rather, the unknowns that we don't even know about. It's a very personal and emotional album for me, which is a bit different from the more objective songs on our first album."
